t Rae Richmond, 57, who lives in Florida, made her first tentative steps into the adult industry one year ago, and is grateful to all her fans as her popularity has exploded. A mum who sensationally quit her old life to become an adult star at 56 is celebrating a year sharing racy content.
Rae Richardson, 57, who lives in Tampa, Florida, has been on a meteoric rise since first cautiously uploading videos to a subscription only platform. In fact she's come so far in the last 12 months she is offering mentoring courses for people looking at raising their profile.
Just a few years ago Rae was a corporate employee, trapped in a loveless and sexless marriage. During the pandemic she was bitterly unhappy, had let her hair go grey, put on weight, was drinking a lot of wine, and cried. Desperate to make a positive change in her life she asked for a divorce, preferring to be alone rather than depressed. But since that moment on her life has been in the ascendancy, especially since she met her new partner, Cam. Cam, who is 20 years Rae's junior gave her a new lease of life and opened her up to the idea of releasing her true self.
"He really just brought something out of me," she said. "We started filming home movies with the phone while we were in the bedroom. And we were watching them back and he's like, 'maybe we should really think about doing something with that'.
"I was 55 at the time, and I'm like, 'there's nobody that's gonna want to see that' and he said, 'maybe the way you do it everybody's gonna want to see it'. And I thought what that's crazy."
However, when Rae was in the gym she spotted an article about a model who was a similar age to her. She said she did a little bit of research into the mature market, then decided to take the plunge."I started making some content, just gathering things up. And I thought I'm either gonna get laughed off the internet and I'm gonna be shamed into hiding for the rest of my life, or I could possibly make some money doing this.
"And I didn't ever imagine it was gonna be as crazy successful as it did. I was actually trying to launch for a couple weeks, and I just could not get the nerve up to actually publish."
Rae says she started going on social media to raise her profile and got a few followers, but as soon as she uploaded to OnlyFans things went "crazy immediately". "I made a thousand bucks in my first month, and then it just snowballed," she said. "By two months in I had hired an assistant. I think I was three months in when I hired my PR team, and after that Huffington Post came calling, it's been wild."
Now to mark her first year on the platform and thank her followers, Rae is offering 30% off VIP access for a fortnight, and will be live streaming once a week, every week, throughout her anniversary month of May. Rae says she is in awe of her fans and has described her year in the spotlight as a very positive experience.
"My fans love me, they love my content," she said. "I just feel happier. I feel free. I'm able to express myself in the way that I choose, in the way that Cam and I choose. And I'm so grateful.
"I get to wake up every single day, and not punch a clock. I get to wake up every single day and do what I love to do. But 90% of it is social media and promotion and fun, and making cute videos and dressing up in pretty clothes. What's not the love about that. I love my life every single day."
