Maitland Ward fears for the future of the adult industry if Donald Trump wins a second term as president. The former Disney star expressed concerns in an interview with TMZ, stating, "I don’t believe someone with the religious right in their back pocket would support adult performers." She noted that both the extreme left and right oppose the adult content industry, saying, "The one area where both the extreme left and right are joined is coming against the adult content production world."
Despite her worries, Ward mentioned that she and her company had a record-breaking year and are doing well. However, she believes Trump wouldn’t advocate for emerging sex workers, stating, "I don’t think he’s going to fight for the sex worker that is coming up in the world, coming up in the industry." Ward added that while she doesn’t expect Kamala Harris to champion the sex industry either, she finds it hard to see how Trump could be supportive, given his past treatment of sex workers: "We've seen how he's treated sex workers in the past."
Lastly, Ward humorously suggested she would make a good, sex-positive presidential candidate, saying, "I would be a very sex-positive person."
