Adult performer Jessica Starling recently spoke out on social media about her regret over participating in interracial (IR) fetish scenes in 2022. She admitted to being unaware of the racist implications of such content, stating: "By racist, I mean using the term 'BBC' and otherwise participating in the hyper-masculinization and hyper-sexualization of Black men."
Starling urged other white performers to refuse roles in racially exploitative scenes and acknowledged her past ignorance: "Ultimately it is my whiteness that allowed me to profit off of my ignorance."
She also criticized the adult industry, saying, "The porn girlies are not okay!!! Why are 80% of u either racist, an abuser apologist, or a pimp?" and added, "This whole industry is cooked tbh, too many of u wanna be petit bourgeois and/or align yourself with capital over community."
Starling's comments have sparked mixed reactions online. Some people criticized her statements, with one commenter saying, "Oh my god, the ego and white savior complex is so rude," while another even called her "schizophrenic."
