Yasmeena Ali, Afghanistan’s only adult star and feminist sex activist, has accused the Taliban of sexism and threats, stating they send her messages, including violent ones. She claims, “They think they own my body and what I do with my body.”
In response to these accusations, the Taliban dismissed them as “absurd.” Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Taliban, insisted that “an attempt is being made to spread propaganda against Afghanistan through the mouths of several fugitive (Afghan) women.”
Yasmeena adds, “They are mostly hating my content because they don’t want Afghanistan to be known for porn. I always get messages like, 'You are faking it, you are Jewish, you are undercover.'” Having moved to the UK, she now uses her platform to challenge societal norms and assert her identity.
