Indigenous Brazilian tribe receiving Starlink becomes addicted to pornography and stops hunting

After Internet Arrival, Indigenous Tribe Faces Starvation

The Marubo people, who live in a remote location in the Amazon, received internet from Elon Musk in April; But the upside of the internet also brought its downsides: upon discovering easy access to pornographic content, they also began sharing obscene images and explicit videos in group chats.

The chief of the group revealed to The New York Times that this sudden exposure to pornography has triggered concerning sexual behaviors among the young local inhabitants.

"It changed the routine so much that it was detrimental. In the village, if you don't hunt, fish, and farm, you don't eat."

In addition to the addiction to pornography, the Marubo people also report that several members spend most of the day on social media, especially Instagram.
